Ed (Armistead) Dawley hails from Norfolk, Va., where he first had musical instruction on piano at the age of eight. One year before embarking on a European sojourn that was to last 16 years, Ed began his study of the acoustic bass. While studying with bassists Santi Debriano and Curtis Lundy, Ed became a local on the Paris, France musical scene, playing with such notables as Bobby Few, Joe Lee Wilson and Mra Oma. In 1983, Ed held the bass chair during a one-month gig in Casablanca, Morocco with saxophonist T. K. Blue. In 1992, he played the Pori, Finland Jazz Festival with Yusef Lateef.
Bryan Irwin has been in attendance at many a family gig sessions over the past 30 plus years on the bass which originally belonged to his grandfather. The Irwin's are one of those rare family folks who found their true vocation a long time ago and their love of music is a continuing witness to the fact.
Percussionist, Jeff Shoop, performs with many local and regional talents including Jeff Irwin and Dr. Bob. He has been in the music business for many years playing a wide variety of styles enjoying the change of pace. Jeff is always in demand for live gigs and CDs having recorded many various styles of music from Jazz to Country.
Cliff Finch studied Composition and arranging at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He first met Jeff Irwin at The Beach Bar in St. John, US Virgin Islands. Clif resides in Charlotte Amalie and comes to the Delaware Seashore during the summer months to enjoy the sun, crabs, and accompanying Jeff on his bass guitar.
Delaware-born, Delaware-raised, Bruce Chappelle is a musical triple threat. Bruce played guitar, bass and steel guitar in the New York City area for many years. The Great American Songbook as well as Jazz and Country are his special loves. He plays all over Delmarva as a single, in duos and as part of a combo.
Dr. Robert "Bob" Thomas has been a faithful music educator for some 50 years. He has devoted much of his life to the study of music. Over the years, Dr. Bob has been a member of several symphony orchestras playing various instruments. Currently, he plays with the Dover Symphony Orchestra as their Principal Bass and several gigs with Jeff Irwin on Piano. After moving to the Delaware area, Dr. Bob worked as a professor of music at Delaware State University.
